BALA

Bala is a small town lying on the shores of Bala Lake, or 'Llyn Tegid'. Bala Lake is the largest natural lake in Wales and offers all sorts of water sports.

Bala Sailing Club, which is only around the corner, have a good calendar of events throughout the season.

 

The Bala Adventure and Watersports Centre is within easy walking distance and they have boats, kayaks, canoes, windsurfer rigs and many other pieces of equipment for hire.

There is plenty of parking available at the lake. Fishing and boating permits can be obtained from the pay & display machines or from the Warden's office on the foreshore.

White Water Rafting, world class canoeing with tuition if required is available at the popular National White Water Centre 'Canolfan Tryweryn', which is also close by.

Bala 'Penllyn' Leisure Centre offers many sports facilities including swimming & water slides, badminton, fitness classes, gym & five-a-side football.

 

The magnificent scenery in the Snowdonia National Park is spectacular and we have details of plenty of walks both for the inexperienced and the adventurous!

You can also take a walk on the Wild Side from the camp site with your children
